Chicago at Night

I drove to Milwaukee to see Spoon play at the Pabst last night. It was one of those concerts that starts off with everything pretty good- dead center, third row seats; $3 shiner bock; a happy, enthusiastic crowd- and then just keeps getting better. Spoon fucking rocked, Britt Daniel was funny and gracious, and for almost two hours they just didn't let up. By the second encore the night had solidly moved up from a memorable concert to a top ten. At that point, I didn't even care that they hadn't played my favorite song. Plus, hearing "Utilitarian" live was an unexpected treat. I think Feist is up next, but that's over a month away....
